Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh are currently in the spotlight ever since the teaser of their upcoming film, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani was released. The Karan Johar directorial is all set to release on July 28. And, as the release date is around the corner, Bhatt and Singh kickstarted promotions from Vadodara, Gujarat. During their visit, Alia spoke about her connection with Gujarat.
While addressing the crowd, Alia Bhatt asserted, "I have Gujarati blood in me. And for my previous film Gangubai (Kathiawadi), I couldn't come to Gujarat. So it is only fitting that we begin our journey of 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani' in Gujarat. And this is actually my first visit to Vadodara. So I am very excited. I have ordered jalebi, I will eat it upstairs after the press conference. But very, very excited."
For the unversed, Alia’s father, Mahesh Bhatt, is of Gujarati descent and her mother, Soni Razdan, is of Kashmiri Pandit and British German ancestry. Reportedly, the patriarch of the family was Nanabhai Bhatt, a Hindu Nagar Brahmin from Porbandar in the Kathiawar region of Gujarat.
Not only this, but Ranveer Singh doing hello in Gangubai style also received hooting from the audience present at the event.
